endlessme: Steve McQueen had his 1961 Austin Mini Cooper S customized by Lee Brown. The car was painted his favorite metallic brown with a beige roof, a sunroof and wooden dash were installed, the radio antenna was moved to the rear fender and a fog light was mounted on the front bumper. McQueen never had front number plates on his cars as he felt they spoiled the clean look. Seats were covered in brown vinyl by upholsterer Tony Nancy. Brown also chromed and then reversed the wheels to widen the track and had the engine ported and balanced.
